Natural Movement
Doing lots of pull-ups and heavy lifts alone won’t necessarily make you a good climber or proficient at carrying heavy loads for long distances on uneven terrain.
Our everyday natural movements are much more complex and require more skill than the exercises practised with a classic strength and conditioning approach.
Natural human movement comprises locomotive skills such as walking, running, balancing, jumping, crawling, climbing, or swimming and manipulative skills such as lifting, carrying, throwing, and catching. In essence, the skills you acquired during childhood. Crucial for flourishing in life, all set up to unleash your full potential
Movement as a way of life!
In today’s comfortable world we are losing sight of the practicality of these innate movement skills. We view exercise as a chore, and spend long hours commuting or behind a desk.
Natural movement is about smoothly blending fitness into daily life.
Not as a burden, or to always be chasing competitive goals.
Natural Movement is about being stronger in everyday life, about creating a solid foundation and simply knowing that you can deal with whatever life throws at you.
Freedom, Expression, Exploration
Even when we try to stay perfectly still, movement persists. Our hearts pump blood, our lungs expand, thoughts fly by, and Earth's gravity constantly challenges our balance.
Movement isn't just about sports, exercise or endless repetition. It's inherent in all of us.
You might enjoy sports, a weekly Pilates class, Sunday bike rides with mates or regular Crossfit sessions. That's great - we encourage you to find activities you enjoy.
But let's be honest, apart from those few hours a week, we can't escape our sedentary lifestyles.
We all need tools to address, maintain and improve our natural physical condition. Some might even discover the joys
of exploring, learning and mastering new skills.
We’re never too old to learn and the journey itself often reveals surprising joys and enlightening discoveries.
Whether you want to play outdoors with your (grand)children, hike the Himalayas, enhance your meditation practice,
master a handstand, climb trees, try axe throwing with friends or simply live life to the fullest.
Your body is wise, intelligent and highly adaptable. It's time to set it free.
