Running Technique
Run Faster, Run for Longer, Run Injury Free
No matter where you are in your running journey, you've likely wondered how to run faster, longer, or without getting hurt.
Running is a cornerstone of many sports (including basketball, football, CrossFit, even gymnastics) and it’s impossible to improve your form in these disciplines if you don’t first look at how to optimise your running technique.
Even if you just run for fun, it's vital to often check if you're doing it in a way that's not only efficient but also reduces your risk of injury. By focusing on your technique, you can improve your performance and enjoy running more safely and comfortably
Born to Run
Born to Run, But Are We Doing It Right?
Indeed, we're built for running – yet, sadly, many of us have strayed from our natural form.
Watch young children run, and you'll see how instinctive and effortless it is for them. While some adults maintain this style, most of us have been shaped by sedentary lifestyles and desk jobs, losing our innate running ability along the way.
Rather than acknowledging this and working to reclaim our natural technique – which is accessible to everyone – many people simply dive back into running with a 'just do it' attitude.
This approach often leads to injuries and frustration when progress stalls. That's where proper technique training becomes crucial. By relearning how to run as we're meant to, we can avoid setbacks and rediscover the joy of movement that comes so naturally to children.
Improve your Running Technique
Technique is the cornerstone of sports disciplines and movements, whether that be ballet, tennis or martial arts. Running is no different, learning the correct running ‘pose’ is just as important as perfecting a backhand serve or a pirouette.
The good news? A great running technique can be taught, (re-)learnt and swiftly put into practice. With a personalised before- and after video you will receive instant feedback and a plan to make corrections and improve.
One of the many tools in our toolbox is ‘The Pose Method of Running’(click to watch video), a method that promises to help runners achieve optimal form quickly and effectively. We teach science, no ‘tips or tricks’
